Keyboard Shortcuts

LDAPviewer provides a number of keyboard shortcuts.

Menus

In all cases menus may be invoked using ALT + first letter of the menu. When displayed the menu may be navigated using the ↑, ↓, ← and → keys.

• ALT + F (case insensitive) invokes the File Menu.

• ALT + E (case insensitive) invokes the Edit Menu. Only effective when a connection established.

• ALT + V (case insensitive) invokes the View Menu.

• ALT + B (case insensitive) invokes the Bookmark Menu. Only effective when a connection established.

• ALT + S (case insensitive) invokes the Search Menu. Only effective when a connection established.

• ALT + L (case insensitive) invokes the LDIF Menu.

• ALT + O (case insensitive) invokes the Options Menu.

• ALT + C (case insensitive) invokes the Certificates Menu.

• ALT + H (case insensitive) invokes the Help Menu.

Menu Items

Certain menu items may be directly invoked using keyboard shortcuts. In the case of Microsoft Windows and Linux/BSD these are invoked using CTRL + character and on the Apple platform using the Command Key + character. In the descriptions below replace KEY + with the appropriate key for the platform:

• KEY + a (case insensitive) invokes the View All Certificates item from the Certificates menu.

• KEY + b (case insensitive) invokes the Add or Edit Bookmark item from the Bookmark menu. Only effective when a connection established.

• KEY + c (case insensitive) invokes the Connect item from the File menu.

• KEY + d (case insensitive) invokes the Disconnect item from the File menu. Only effective when a connection established.

• KEY + e (case insensitive) invokes the Export Selected Tree as LDIF item from the LDIF menu. Only effective when a connection established.

• KEY + h (case insensitive) invokes the Help Contents item from the Help menu.

• KEY + i (case insensitive) invokes the Import LDIF item from the LDIF menu. Only effective when a connection established.

• KEY + k (case insensitive) invokes the Manage Client Keystore item from the Certificates menu.

• KEY + m (case insensitive) invokes the Cut (or Move) item from the Edit menu. Only effective when a connection established.

• KEY + n (case insensitive) invokes the New Window item from the File menu.

• KEY + o (case insensitive) invokes the View Object item from the View menu.

• KEY + p (case insensitive) invokes the Preferences item from the Options menu.

• KEY + r (case insensitive) invokes the Refresh Entry item from the Edit menu. Only effective when a connection established.

• KEY + s (case insensitive) invokes the Search Dialog item from the Search menu. Only effective when a connection established.

• KEY + t (case insensitive) invokes the Manage User's Trusted Keystore item from the Certificates menu.

• KEY + v (case insensitive) invokes the View or Import Security File item from the Certificates menu.

• KEY + y (case insensitive) invokes the Copy item from the Edit menu. Only effective when a connection established.
