Just who and what is ZYTRAX?

The rest of the known universe is making Digital Access solutions for the Internet, what makes ZyTrax unique......

We focus exclusively on optimizing value in Digital Access and Routing Solutions for IP Networks (which includes the Internet, Intranets and Extranets). Our current Warp product family includes the new WarpTwo range of ISDN Multicast IP Routers for SOHO, small businesses, branch offices, ISPs and Intranet/Extranet operators.
The Multi-megabit Air-Frame range of Wireless IP Routers and Bridges is the result of our recent joint venture with 'Steam Packet Radio'. The Air-Frame range is very cost-effective, rugged and reliable over distance (normally oxymorons in the wireless business). It's a super new product.

Wireless sounds a bit like 'voodoo networking' to me, what's the scoop....

If you want the whole scoop check out the Steam Packet Radio Air-Frame Range. Briefly (yeah, yeah) the Air-Frame range of Wireless IP products consists of rugged and reliable multi-megabit bridges and routers designed for a wide variety of IP tasks but optimized for Internet Access. Air-Frame has deliberatly sacrificed raw speed for:

Air-Frame operates in the license free 2.4GHz band which means you will have choices. No Telco calling the shots, network build-out will be fast and you are able to choose and change your ISP or Access suppliers. Control...control...control NOT controlled.

Heck this stuff is fun (remember when we used to have fun...)

Yeah, yeah, man but what makes ZyTrax unique.....

In order to give our customers cost-effective network access we created our unique HotPools technology. HotPools is a set of sophisticated routing and resouce sharing capabilities that enables:

Using HotPools technology we have created Permanent Virtual Access (PVA) a new way of accessing IP networks (which includes the Internet, Intranet or Extranet) and which combines the benefits of permanent connections with the price of dial-up connections....but does not combine the negative aspects!!

So what is Permanent Virtual Access.....

Permanent Virtual Access (PVA) is a true dynamic bandwidth, virtual private networking, low-cost solution for peer-to-peer IP network access to the Internet, Intranets or Extranets supporting multiple access topologies (PC to network, LAN to network, LAN to LAN) using ZyTrax's HotPools technology..

Eh!, but what is Permanent Virtual Access...

Briefly, using Permanent Virtual Access (PVA)you are constantly in touch with the Internet (or the Intranet or the Extranet) but you only use network resources when you are actually transmitting or receiving data so you don't need to pay dedicated access charges. You get dedicated services at dial-up prices..

Sounds a bit like dial-up to me...

Hey, man you're tough to convince, but I'm glad you asked that question! In conventional dial-up, you dial into the network. If you're not currently connected you can't be reached - sad (and not much use if you have a Web or FTP site). With PVA contact is bi-directional (sounds a bit perverted to me). If someone wants to contact you, the ZyTrax Access Routers at the network end (Internet, Intranet or Extranet) calls you. If you click a browser button or do anything else to access the network, your ZyTrax Router (WarpTwo) makes the connection for you. Its all automatic, you don't see anything, and it takes just under two seconds. It's just as if you were permanently connected.

OK, so what...

Cost is so what.... PVA means a major reduction in capital spending and in the number of access lines used to support a given base of users which means lower access costs .. like typically twice the bandwidth or more for the same price.

In support of our objectives (to change the network access world what else) we have started a Business Class Internet Access Service to promote and supply PVA based services here in Montreal.
We are starting to gain some serious clients and with our Q4 roll-out of mult-megabit wireless DSL we are planning for a major expansion in our client base.

OK, so how come you guys are still using that hokey ISDN technology....

We still use ISDN 'cos it exists, its very reliable, pretty well ubiquitous and is still the only digital technolgy which gives you choices.

What..you must have heard of ADSL or is it SDSL or some DSL thing...

OK lets admit that the Telcos messed up the pricing and marketing of ISDN royally (but ISDN installs are still growing 30% year on year). But xDSL is not much better. xDSL is not a switched access technlogy. xDSL lines are 'nailed-up' (industry jargon for hard-wired or premaently connected) to your ISP supplier. Simply put you are locked into your supplier of xDSL service (just try and change ISP with an xDSL line). So its back to the dark days of 'lock-ins'. Now we don't like this...but we all need more bandwidth... which is why we are getting into the Wireless business. Man, we love those free air-waves.

So what do you do for an encore.....

We've got lots of cool plans and ideas bubbling around here:

Remember ZyTrax (no one can spell it) We're last in the phone book...... but first with ideas (groan). Enjoy the rest of your life.
