We specialise in IP communications.
We develop and market our own products - the Warp product family includes the WarpTwo range of ISDN Multicast IP Routers for SOHO, small businesses, branch offices, ISPs and Intranet/Extranet operators.
The Multi-megabit Air-Frame range of Wireless IP Routers and Bridges is our latest venture and marketed under the Steam Packet Radio brand. The Air-Frame range is very cost-effective, secure, rugged and reliable over long distances (normally oxymorons in the wireless business). It's a great new product.
If you want the whole scoop check out the Steam Packet Radio Air-Frame Range. Briefly (yeah, yeah) the Air-Frame range of Wireless IP products consists of secure rugged and reliable multi-megabit bridges and routers designed for a wide variety of IP tasks but optimized for Internet Access. Air-Frame has the following design goals:
Air-Frame operates in the license free 2.4GHz band which means you will have choices. No Telco calling the shots, network build-out will be fast and under your control.
Heck this stuff is fun (remember when we used to have fun...)
In order to give our customers cost-effective network access we created our unique HotPools technology. HotPools is a set of sophisticated routing and resource sharing capabilities that enables:
Dynamic bandwidth - you pay for what you need when you need it. Typically our solutions provide around twice the bandwidth for the same price.
Incremental investment - you want more capacity you add more resources. No steep initial investments which is the norm in our industry.
QoS - we manage the traffic flows and deliver the precise load you want under all conditions and with unlimited control over delay sensitive traffic. You can squeeze the last ounce out of your bandwidth.
Resource Sharing - you can add unlimited (well almost!) resources and our sophisticated protocols manage and load balance using all the available resources.
We now run Business Class ISP service providing web hosting, email, web development as well as simple access.
We also undertake product and systems development for selected clients where our skill levels and expertise let us a do a superior and cost-effective job. We specialise in FreeBSD, Linux and embedded system and all the projects have a high communications content.
We provide turnkey network solutions. We just finished a project where we designed and installed the telephone, LAN, and video wiring, installed wireless links and provided Internet access (for guests and the operator) for a major new hotel in Montreal.
We have four ideas we are developing at this moment
High-quality, paid-for, self managed e-mail services - we have just secured access to a great domain name and hope to launch a unique service in early 2004.
We have developed a FreeBSD based packaged 'Business Server' that even we can install. You just enter a few parameters via a web interface and it does everything. We mean everything - it provides web hosting, email services, DNS services, Firewall, DHCP, PPoE, Proxy services, centralised archiving, printing, file storage and Windows Domain Controller capability.
We have gotten very excited by the possibilities offered by the new range of low-cost, silent PCs. We are experimenting with a number of ideas.
PC Power systems and battery back-up. We have just had a very bad experience which has caused us to do some re-thinking of fundamental concepts in the area of power supplies. We have developed some pretty exciting ideas in this area.
Remember ZYTRAX (no one can pronounce it) We're last in the phone book...... but first with ideas (groan).
Enjoy the rest of your life.
