HotPools

Optimizing Bandwidth, Costs and Revenues

This is one of a series of ZyTrax White Papers which provide information on the use, functions, technology or operation of ZyTrax products. In all cases consult the relevant product documentation and specifications to obtain definitive operational information.

Abstract

This 'white paper' combines both technical and commercial issues. While readers should be technically 'aware' they do not need 'in-depth' technical understanding.

The paper starts by discussing some of the threats and challenges to the ISP/TSP business (and for that matter all network operators) to create a context into which ZyTrax products and technologies are designed to 'plug and play'.

The paper then describes the functionality, use and features of HotPools technology to enable the user to gain a realistic understanding. A number of examples are given to illustrate the power and capabilities of this technology in both wired and wireless networks.

Permanent Virtual Access a service offering based on HotPools is briefly described here.

Finally the Management and Administration features of HotPools are described.
