Telnet Page 1
Page 1 displays the currently active ARP entries (up to a
miximum of 40 entries = 20 lines, two entries per line) used by the Router. The ARP (or Address Resolution
Protocol) table contains all entries for the Local LAN environment. ARP entries are refreshed every 2 minutes.

Each line contains two entries across,
is updated every 1 second and has the following generic entry format
IP MAC ST IF TTL
BBB.BBB.BBB.BBB CCCCCCCCCCCC DD EE FFF
Key
BBB.BBB is the IP address of a host on
the local LAN in dotted decimal format.
CCCCC - is the 6 byte MAC
(Media Access Control) address of the Ethernet destination displayed as 12
hexadecimal characters
DD - The ARP table entry status and may take one the following values
OK = resolved entry
WT
= ARP request issued awaiting response
WR
= OK entry waiting a response to an ARP after timing out.
BD
= invalid entry
EE - defines the
hardware interface unit as follows
WarpOne
10
= PCMCIA slot A
11
= PCMCIA slot B,
12
= PCMCIA slot C
WarpTwo
01 = LAN 0
FFF - is the ‘time to
live’ (the time in seconds) before the ARP entry will expire from the ARP table
and the Router will resend an ARP request to confirm the presence and MAC
address of the host. Each entry in the ARP table is timed out every 120 seconds
(2 minutes).
If all 40 entries have been displayed and there are additional
un-displayed entries this is indicated by the text ‘….more entries’ after the last displayed ARP table
entry.
